Bouctouche - top 10 prettiest small towns in Canada
Bouctouche is named one of the 10 prettiest small towns in Canada by the folks over at Tourism New Brunswick.
The magnificent Bouctouche River, like a ribbon that enhances an already beautiful package, ties together the scenery, the people and the sea. At its mouth, nestled behind a large sand dune, lies the thriving, dynamic town of Bouctouche. With its wide-open spaces, silken shores, wind swept sand and waterways too numerous to count, Bouctouche is an ecological paradise where the air is clean and nature unspoiled.
"Le Pays de la Saguine" is also a very well know tourist attraction in Bouctouche.
Created from internationally renowned Acadian novelist and author Antonine Maillet's imagination. A real live village, in an enchanting natural setting alive with theatre, music, comedy and dance, allows visitors to discover the unique Acadian culture. Evenings also come alive with a variety of dinner-theatres and musical evenings. The whole cast of characters, accompanied by two house bands, will keep your fingers snapping, your feet tapping and your spirits light all through your visit.
There are many things to see and do in Bouctouche but I would strongly suggest visiting the Bouctouche Dunes, I go every couple weeks just to walk along the wooden pathways along the beach. There is also a tower with a telescope where you can see the lighthouse standing tall at the very end of the dunes. You can also see PEI's huge wind powered generators at North Cape from there, these things are monstrous to say the least. (I'll post images next time I'm there).

One pictured here (there are eight in total):

Bouctouche... no small wonder
